RISE
Day Twenty-five – Today is day twenty five. Perhaps we should start by saying “You are half way there” or “You have reached the top of the hill” or “You can see the light at the end of the tunnel.” Yet, none of those seem really accurate. It may be the way they we think or need to think, but that is what we are trying to change.
You see, the prize…the end of all of this is not the fifty days…it’s not just the transformation. There is a higher purpose…a higher meaning. These fifty days, we must be reminded, are rather a springboard toward an end that we hope to see more clearly. We are like the stargazer leaving city to get a clear view of the night sky free of ambient light. We are lifting the fog…clearing out the distraction. But what we see is not merely the end of a number of days.
What we will see offers us a deepened sense of humility; a heightened awareness of his presence; a greater longing for his word; a elevated sense of His blessings; a larger view of His world; a greater understanding of what it means when he says that “in Him we live, move and have our being.” In seeing these things we will have a richness and joy that paves our way to glory, which is the ultimate end of our journey.
We are opening the door to a pathway. We are beginning the maturing process. We must “go on to maturity” and that is what this fifty days is all about. Today is a reminder. We are not “half way through,” but rather one step closer to opening the door of glory.
