RISE
Day thirty-five – Today is Day thirty five and hopefully you have not forgotten that it is Mother’s Day as well. Today serves as a reminder of just how important family is in our growth process and the need to give thanks. We have talked about it a couple times already, but let us get more specific and talk a little about mom.
Mother are such a vital piece of the puzzle of our lives that without them life is just infinitely harder and the odds a heavily stacked against us. A mother’s love, care, compassion, mirroring that of Christ’s, is indispensable for growth, not only when we are young, but throughout life. With this love mothers lay the foundation of our society and families.
I will admit my loss for words here. We can quotes statistics. We can talk about the value Christ placed on motherhood. We can speak about how they are the keepers of not only the home, but of our hearts and our souls. We can talk about how mothers have risen and stood on the walls of faith to bring their family to God.
We can do all that, but today why not just go to your mother…pick up the phone…write that letter you have been meaning to write…buy those flowers…and go tell mom just how much she means to you? If your mother is no longer with us, then look in the mirror…mom is there…and thank God.
Today we honor our mothers, but especially those who have been warriors for Christ and lived lives patterned on the righteousness of Christ. Oh! They are human beings and fail as such, but today may we set those things aside and thank them…thank God for them and all they have done for you in this growth process.
Today is day thirty-five. Thank you Mom.
