RISE
Day Forty-seven – Today is day forty seven and we are going to look forward…beyond the next week, month or year. None of us wants this transformation…this fifty days of devotion…work…reflection to be for nothing. Yet, if it will come to something, rather than nothing, it must be planned.
Christ told us that we must count the cost. He even went so far as to say that it is nearly impossible to be a disciple and follow after him if we do not make our plans to succeed. We must not build our houses on sand and hope for no turbulent tide. Rather, we must plan for the trials and tribulation.
So, now that we are within three days of our fifty-day milestone, what is your plan to keep the change going? What is your plan to continue to foster good growth? We are planting seeds my friend. With what will you water? With what will you prune and lift up and move forward?
My wife and I love plants, but for some reason they are just hard for us to manage. Someone will give us a plant and we will take it in, love it and water it and watch it grow. But then the business of life takes over and that plant, though I walk by it every day, gets neglected. Months later we wonder why it’s not thriving…why it is brown…why nothing we do will seem to bring it back. It is just too easy to forget those little, but important things.
Today is day Forty-seven. Today we ask, “What are you plans for future growth?” Will you step up and step out? Will you live for Christ and let your light shine or will you simply fade back into shadow?
